Are there any Indoor Tennis Courts in Philadelphia that are open to the public?

Question by NFS: Are there any Indoor Tennis Courts in Philadelphia that are open to the public?
I was wondering if there are any indoor tennis courts that are open to the public for FREE or for a small fee in Philly. I know where a few close open outdoor ones are, but its cold now.. and i’d rather not learn to play outside…

Im getting professional lessons over the summer, but my friend is going to help me asap..
Thanks,
I LOVE you for the help,
Ninqi

Can I be good at tennis still?

Question by somone s: Can I be good at tennis still?
So I haven’t played tennis much in my life but in April I got myself a trainer and he tought me some stuff but I was only with him for like 4 one hour sessions. However I did learn the hits I need to know I just need to practice them. I am planning on getting a trainer and doing it twice a week with him for 1 hour. I am going into my freshman year and I want to play good when tennis starts in March. Can I still be a pretty good player?

Depends how good you want to be. If you want to be a competent social player, get in as much practice as you can. If you want to compete at club level, you will need to put in a lot more practice, and if you want to be a professional, then dedicate your life. Two hours a week simply isn’t enough to make you anything but a decent social player.

I want to take Tennis lessons..?

Question by Natalie: I want to take Tennis lessons..?
So i’ve become more interested in tennis & i want to start tennis lessons this summer,
if you play tennis what is the cost for lessons?
is there more people in your lesson or just you and the teacher?
when did you start? how long does it take to learn tennis? is it hard?
do you have to have alot of muscle ? or be really fit?
if so, how do you train to be fit to play tennis?

Alot of questions, i know,
but if you can answers these & give me more tips for tennis
THANKS :)
Natalie.

ok, so rates usually depend, but for where I go it’s $ 50 per hour for a private lesson and $ 25 for a semi private. i’d recommend taking a private lesson along with a clinic(clinics range in terms of how many people there are, but there’s usually at least 5). in your private lesson the teacher will focus on improving your stokes and everything, and clinics will be a good place to practice and play against other people. tennis is harder than it looks, but once you start taking lessons you’ll improve dramatically! in the beginning, you don’t need a lot of muscle b/c you’ll be focused more on actually hitting the ball over the net rather than slamming in a winner, but once you start getting good (2-3 years), muscle and fitness will start becoming important.

first thing you need to do is find a place where you can play tennis.
you know experience really is a good teacher.you have played it when you where still a 6th grader so when you actually play it you can remember the sport. you can ask somebody who knows tennis to refresh the mechanics and rules of tennis..
