Did Jankovic just re-learn how to play tennis?

Question by My Avatar Is Beautiful: Did Jankovic just re-learn how to play tennis?
She was number one once, a very good grinder, playing more tennis than anybody a few years back. But then she got a new trainer and bla bla bla became pretty bad. Then she comes into Indian Wells and destroys players. Is she back?
Will Ivanovic and Vaidisova do the same?
I heard she got a new coach, I wonder if that’s what did it. She is playing a lot better. I really thought Wozniaki was going to destroy her, she is on a rampage.

Well, throw a rock from any sidewalk in Hilton Head, and you’ll hit a tennis academy.

Your question is a little vague. Where do you want to take your lessons, and what’s your budget?

I need to learn to play tennis fast.?

Question by autumn: I need to learn to play tennis fast.?
Well, I am taking tennis as my Phys Ed equivalency, so I have all spring and summer before my freshmen year. I need some tips on how to play so I can make the tryouts, because long story short, I don’t know what I’d do if I had to do phys ed next year!!! anywhoozle, i need to make the tryouts and know what I’m doing.

Please give me some tips on how to be a good player, i especially have trouble serving. And anything else like the words for points and are there different sized tennis rackets, because mine is too big for me to hold right. Also anyone who has gone through tryouts before, how hard are they to pass?! because im really worried.
And the reason i picked tennis is so I wouldn’t have to work with other people like on teams, bc i am an extremely independent and competitive person, is this the right sport for me?
any additional info would be helpful thanks!

Well, on your serving, make sure the ball toss is high enough and in front of you, where you can reach it. The racket should make contact with the ball while your arm is extended. You may hear people say “break your wrist”. It means to bend your wrist down in a way. It’s hard to explain >< Anyways, be sure to toss the ball in front of you, as it's important as a high toss. A good way to practice is stretch your arm out, ball in hand, and throw it up. It should land in front of you every time. It should be high above your head, but not too high, if you catch my drift.

Also there are different sized rackets. There are power rackets and control rackets. To test which one is which, put your finger through the little triangle and let the racket dangle on your finger. If the head (part where you hit the ball) weighs more, it's a power racket and vice versa. And i've never gone through tryouts, they just put me in a team. lol so good luck. Just practice and you'll do fine.

Tennis is a good independent sport, but sometimes you also have to know how to work with another person. So it's a balance of both. Just my opinion though..

BTW, sorry this is super long ><

The best instructor can be a wall….where you hit groundstrokes to gain confidence and consistency even before taking to the courts on a regular basis. For instruction, maybe an area college could be a start – many head coaches are certified instructors and may take clients, when possible….or rec department….or tennis club.
