bit.ly This video teaches you how to practice modern tennis footwork during your warm up. The pros (Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, etc.) use a number of specific steps when they play a match. Yann Auzoux and I discussed what these steps were in a recent video (titled “Modern Tennis Footwork”). Now we’re going to show you how to practice them so that they become second nature. We spend most of our time talking about the following pieces of tennis footwork: the walking step, the hopping step, the inside step, and the carioca step. The warm up Yann and I do is very simply… it’s something you can do the very next time you hit the court! Video Rating: 4 / 5

Answer by Chris B You might be able to excel in intramurals if you worked hard…but don’t expect to kick ass left and right, tennis takes months of tedious practice and conditioning

Answer by pxtn Don’t die. No, seriously, I used to play tennis with a person who served an average of 98mph. And even though he hardly ever got it inside the court, he hit me in the face once. And it hurt. It hurt with pain of justice. Evil justice.

Answer by Sal G Tennis is a great sport. It depends on what you consider good. Playing in local tennis tournaments with varying levels of competition from beginner to advanced would be a great way to start. It would probably take an athletic person about six months to a year to be proficient at footwork, backswing, and serving in local “beginner” skilled tournaments or playing on weekends with your friends.
Good Luck!
