Question by Me<3<3<3: Please read! I want to play some tennis but have a few problems. What should I do…?
So I want to play tennis in my free time and would love to take lessons. I already know the basics but I want to learn new stuff and I want to get better. Tennis is one of my favorite sports and I want to use my free time to play. There are a few problems though:
1. There are barely any tennis instructors around me (i think there are 4)
2. I can’t travel out too far for lessons.
3. The ones that are near me are so expensive ($ 300 a week at the cheapest. No thank you!)
There are tennis courts right next to my house that belong to my school so I can use those, but I have NO ONE to hit with. It also has no wall otherwise I would use that and not be asking this question.

Try finding a large empty wall with no window or anything, and make sure, on that wall, you know just about where the net height is. Just practice hitting against the wall. I do that all the time for practice.
What do you think? Answer below!

The other commentor had it right, look around for Ny wall without windows, even if it is swallow, hitting into a small wall will end up improving your aim and accuracy in the long run anyways!
As far as lessons go, a lesson is good but sometimes not needed. Go on fuzzyyellowballs.com, a website that is devoted to teaching tennis. Just sign up and they have video packages built for new players, advanced players and middle level players like you, lookig to I,prove on form. They have videos from grips to proper backhands and forehands and I believe that it is a good substitute for teachers. And then, when you have the form from the videos, hit on the wall and THEN you can get a lesson from the precious 4 pros and they will correct your stance instead of wasting your time and money teaching you the simple things that can be taught via video. Hope this helps, there are also forums with a tennis community that you should probably go to in the future because yahoo.answers is pretty sad in the tennis section
Good luck, amazing sport!
